EHEDG recertification of the Hygienic USIT® screw and seal systems As part of the recertification process, the cooperating partners, KIPP and Freudenberg Sealing Technologies have made improvements to the new type of Hygienic USIT® screw and seal system. This stainless steel solution in Hygienic DESIGN was specially developed for hygienic sensitive areas.
Changes to the stainless steel hygienic screw and seal systems at a glancle:
- The ID of the sealing washer has been slightly reduced for improved centring. This entailed an adjustment of the screw shaft.
- The grading of the shank length was revised and, for optical uniformity the cap nut was adapted to the screw head.
- The modified stainless steel components are certified according to EL Class I AUX.

| The basis of the screw and seal system is the Hygienic USIT® seal from Freudenberg. To go with the sealing washer, KIPP has developed a matching NOVOnox hygienic hexagon head bolt and cap nut. A combination of these stainless steel products forms a screw and seal system that meets all the requirements of hygiene-sensitive areas. Although all products are available individually, the EHEDG certificate only applies to the system as a unit. |
